I am going to be traveling to the Louisville area coming up shortly. I have a valid CPL (concealed pistol license) and I'm pretty sure that it is honored in OH, Indiana, and KY. I'll be down there for a long weekend(happens to be derby weekend) Is anyone familiar with knife laws for these states/areas?
I don't want to take a chance on jamming myself being naive, especially combined with carrying a firearm. I usually carry an Emerson CQC-7, or Karambit w/commander blade(especially when in Detroit due to the 3" rule)
Any advice is appreciated!

Also any good knife stores in the Louisville area? I'm aware of 1 stop knife shop, but haven't dealt with them personally. Iwouldn't mind picking up a new quality knife (or two)

Thanks again.

I know my Ky CCW allows for auto knives so I assume, if there is reciprocity between states, that you would be ok though I would get more confirmation than my word. If you're going to Churchill Downs you should leave the knives in the car or at home. 1sks is the best place in the Louisville area, by far, for knife shopping.

Thanks. I won't be attending the Derby. Just happen to be going that weekend. I'll have to stop in and check out 1sks.

Highvoltage,
You might want to check out Heimerdinger's knife shop too, its right around the corner from 1SKS. Heimerdinger's has been in business about a hundred years.

Yep, Heimerdinger's is nice too. I would advise that you check out the 1SKS website out for what they have in stock currently as they are in a new facility and hadn't gotten all the knives into display cases yet, at least as of last week that is.

That is a sad note.. I only get down that way perhaps once a year. I've recently been bitten by the collecting bug and was hoping to pick up some new stuff that I can't find locally. I'll have to call an see how late they are open on Fridays, and what time they open on Monday, and change my travel times.

The last times I've been to the area I was with the wife in her Jeep. The winding country roads are amazing. This time I'm driving down alone, and taking my STi, so the roads will be even more amazing:)

HighVoltage,
Red Hill Cutlery is about 35 miles Southwest of Louisville and they have very nice selection of knives. But they are also closed on the weekend. Check out their website.
