I am heading to Madrid Spain in March. Has anyone been there knife shopping? Any suggestions of places or shops that I must go to. I am just beginning my research and have heard about Toledo. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Watch for the brands "joker", "nieto" and "cudeman". Those are the best spain-made pocket knives. My personal preference goes for cudeman.

Hi, you will get a number of small knife shops in Madrid (I was only their 18 hrs). If you head out towards the Costa Blanca coast to Albacete you will find it to be the hub of cutlery for Spain. Know your prices for the international brands such as Muele as they are sometime the same price as home. Also keep an eye out for Argentinian Gaucho knives. There is a strong link between Spain and Argentina and many Argentinian knives are sold in Spain. Enjoy, a great place with great people.

Madris isn´t a very good place to knife shopping. Anyway, look for little knife shops and hardwares. As it´s been told, there are several Spanish cutlery brands you can check: Muela (of course), Joker and Cudeman are probably the best known outside Spain, but don´t forget Castañeda, or J.J. Martínez.
I´m not sure about the rules concerning other forums, so I won´t post here a link to a Spanish Forum where you could find more info about specific shops and cities. Anyway - I hope it would be OK- you can contact me by private message.
Best regards, and enjoy my country.
