The #1 Hard Use Knives In The World

Hello suspects: I just did a search on the GBU thread on Botach. Before you spend any hard earned $$, please read the posts. It looks Botach has mixed reviews. Either way, enjoy!!

Doug

Thanks for the heads up guys. I was thinking about a commander for a long time. Now i have no excuse. Just ordered one. I will post again when it arrives and give an opinion on Botach, my fingers are crossed that all goes well. Great prices on other knives as well.

For whatever it's worth, I've placed 9 orders within the past 6 months with Botach, and I've never had anything other than excellent service from them. I've seen the negative reviews, therefore I always make sure that I ask them to verify that whatever I'm ordering is in stock; two days later I receive the goods. Never once have they jacked me around.

I, like Eric, have ordered from Botach several times and have had nothing but excellent service adn prompt delievery.

Given the wide veriety they show, I would probably order by phone, just to make sure they has what I wanted in stock.

I have also ordered from them, and they have great customer service. I do not know where the negative reviews come from, not that I am doubting them.

Botach has "Live Help" online, and it is the neatest thing going. Just click on the button, and you get a live person on the other side to answer your questions. I have used it several times and it is just awesome.

Usual Suspect

I had some problems with them a while ago. Ordered some blade tech stuff for my P7, took 3 months to get, and when I got it, it was the wrong holster, and for a glock 19. I called, complained, they tried to tell me that it was what I orderd. So I sent it back, and instead of taking it off my card, they charged it again, only this time it was not the "sale" price!
However, I have heard that they have improved/changed management.
Was thinking of a satin/od green commander myself.
just don't know if I can bring myself to do it!
I would call instead of order online.
cheers,

Hi everyone, I'm new to posting to this forum and new to Emerson knives. Being the proud owner of a 2000 Commander with another on the way!
I also just ordered from Botach for the first time, even after reading all those negative purchasing experiences posted by others. I called on the phone and checked to make sure the item was in stock before ordering.
My initial telephone experience was pretty poor since they transfered me around numerous times. I hung up after 15 minutes of waiting and called back later. Everything worked fine the second time. They even talked me out of 2-day delivery due to the cost. Will let you know what happens!

FYI. Called today to confirm online order. Commanders are NOT in stock. Was told earliest possible day would be Wed. next week.

Dwenslen,
Sorry to here about you bad experience with Botach. I ordered a knife from them but called first to see if they had it in stock. They checked and called back saying that they didn't have one. Then later that day I got another call saying they found a couple and did I still want one. It arrived right when it was supposed to. Their prices are good and I don't have complaints.

I've ordered things here and there from them recently, and I've had pretty good service. They often do NOT stock what you want, and I think it's strategic that they don't tell you whether something is in stock or not ...

On the flip side, some good friends of mine tell me that their agencies etc. have had problems with Botach concerning large orders. They refuse to do business with them. That may have been before this supposed change of management :\

Here's my 2 cents.
Back at the end of August 2000, I placed an order for an MOD Dieter CQD and an ASP baton. After about a month of waiting I called to check the status. Both items were on backorder for different periods of time. There wasn't very good communication via email or the phone (getting put on hold and bounced around amongst customer service reps). Finally, 2 1/2 months of bi-weekly phone calls after ordering, they sent the products but didn't tell me. 1 month later I called to ask where it was -- they told me it had been delivered -- it turned out UPS lost it(that's a whole other story). To make a long and painful story short, about 5 1/2 months after I placed the order, my credit card was finally credited the cost of the items that were never delivered.
In their favor, they did resolve the issue and I got my money back. But, the communication, either via phone or email, was horrible and I would definitely call before placing an order to make sure the item you want is in stock.

What we need is a Usual Suspect that lives in the area of Botach Tactical (3423 West 43rd Place Los Angeles, CA 90008) to take our orders and WALK in to the shop and buy them over the counter in person (preferably a LE or Military member for that extra discount) then send them to us! I would volunteer but I live over 600 miles away.

Commanderfan,
Are you proposing immediate "Ususal Suspect" status for someone, IF, they were to facilitate what you had mentioned??!!

I happen to meet the requirements

Usual Suspect

surfing ronin,

Well my immediate reaction is a real "Usual Suspect" would offer upfront (unsolicited) to provide fellow Suspects the opportunity to procure Emerson products at great prices. And real "Usual Suspects" intrinsicly know that you cannot "buy" "Usual Suspect" status from doing one good deed.

Then giving it a little more thought....

Definition.
{"Usual Suspect" - Term coined by Les Robertson in 01/99. A person that frequents and participates in the Emerson Forum on BF.com. In fact it should be considered
synonymous with "Frequent Participant". Custom ownership is not required, just
enthusiasm for the products.}

Now you have to ask yourself:
Do you frequent the Emerson forum?
Do you participate?
Do you consider yourself a frequent participant?
Do you have enthusiasm for Emerson products?

If you can answer "yes" to all of the above then you are by the very definition above a "Usual Suspect".

(I noticed that you have posted six times to my four. This would put you closer to being a "Usual Suspect" than me so what do I really know about being a "Usual Suspect" anyway! I do not consider myself worthy of being labeled a "Usual Suspect" at this time. Only time will tell.)

I would submit that even if one meets the requirements in the definition above it is one thing to meet the requirements and another to be recognized by the group as a "Usual Suspect" just as a new cop must gain the respect of the others before being accepted by the veterans.

What do the real "Usual Suspects" think about giving surfing ronin all the orders so he can buy them in person at Botach Tactical in order to circumvent Botach's reported spotty service and provide us with excellent prices?

Commanderfan,I'm the one who offered the unsolicited heads up on the great prices and I don't concider myself a usual suspect (or a good speller). Why?

#1 I only own 1 Emerson,ok #2 is on the way.

#2 when you only own 1 and that for a short time how can you have any meaning experiance or advice?

#3 I lurk here,but don't post much.See #1+2

I have however realized that a lot of people here have lots to offer and I learn from them.So if I can help them out like this, glad to do it.
