I just noticed that "Inconspicuous knife for Inconspicuous Life" is missing from the jackknife tales thread. I wasn't sure if it was just missed, or left out on purpose. Thanks!

Thank you sir. I must have missed it!

Regards,

Gus Kalanzis

There'll be a little less nothing in your moderators bonus check this week. :D

Actually it's a good place to thank you and Elliott for what you guys do for us. Thank you.

PS..I'm not brown nosing, I'm seriously thanking you guys....seriously. ;)

Thanks, Kerry, for the good words. We'll try not to spend it all in one place! :p

Thanks Kerry, truth be told the regulars here deserve the thanks. Speaking of regulars, this place would not be what it is without your presence.

I second that. This is the best forum on BF, and I think it's in LARGE part because of the mods. Thank you, guys!

I'd say I spend better than half my time here in Traditionals, which is a testament to the people who hang out here and the moderators, it's just a Folksy Place.:)

Thanks guys.

Agreed - this board is pretty unique in my experience; sort of an extended family of traditional knife aficionados. Thanks to the mods and all the participants for making this place such an enjoyable and informative resource

I have very slowly had less and less to do with the internet forums, with the exeption of this place. This has become the only forum that I bother to get on these days. The outright decency of the people, the feeling of friendship, and not to mention folksyness, makes it worth my while. I've come to look at this place sort of like an extended family of like minded folk.

The kind of people I'd sit with on a sagging front porch in some old wicker rockers on a rainy day, maybe even passing a square bottle around to sweeten up the coffee in the tin cups. Talk of many things that the young pups on the upended crates can learn from.

C'mon set a spell...Have a sup...Jackknife's getting ready to commence...

When I go in here, I expect to see Jackknife setting in one of the old wooden chairs next to the chest type pop cooler. They sell folding knives, Bear and no-name chinas. But have them in an old Buck counter top case. Don't try to buy it, I do at least once a year.

At the literal end of the road. Glibert, Arkansas on the bank of the Buffalo River. Picture 10/08.

Yes, this is a well kept forum....300

without these guys this forum would be a circus.it would get so out of sorts that serious responders could'nt comminicate. most or us i.m.o. want input ,comminication, increase in knowledge, & info on products & procedures.

300Bucks,

That reminds me of the hardware store up the road from me, in the town of Onley. It's actually where I found a Schrade display case with a few knives left in it. If you were to go in there in the winter time and walk to the back of the store, you'd likely find a few folksy fellows gathered around the large woodstove, smoking their pipes and socializing. Maybe I'll actually have time to shoot the breeze with them one of these days.

I have great respect and have been friends with both our Mods for more than a few years now. However, it is the people in this forum that makes it so great. Thanks to all of you as well. Everyone except for that jerk db.

Yup. Big ol' +1 from out here. Whatever compensation the mods get is well deserved.

That's true right there. The only thing missing is the Nehi & Cheerwine for the young folk.

thx - cpr

Yes,
If I was stranded on an island for a year and could only choose one knife,..... um, I mean.............. one BF subforum to read, I would choose Traditional.:p
:thumbup::thumbup:;)

That is the other forum's loss, and our continued benefit, JK. It is you, and the rest of the Traditionals regulars, who make this such a fantastic place to congregate. I wish I lived on the Chesapeake, and could come spend time with you. I don't spend much time with many people. I have a few good friends here in California, and they are the ones with traditional values. I have found another good group of people to spend time with. Thank you all for being who you are.

Ken

Since this has turned into a hats off thread...

This forum is a very special place because of the very special folk.

But it could be folksy like the 'wild west'!

So my thanks are to Gus and Elliott for their sometimes tough love that keep us in place.
That they hold the vision down to the small detail.

Thank you
