Heads Up; More M390 from DLT

Mine came today. Unfortunately its fate was sealed before it even went on sale. I have a feeling this is going to be a popular mod. I'm talking about the M390 PM2 with Peel-Ply CF of course.

Man you’ve got to be quick around here. I didn’t even know about this PM2, and now their selling in minutes on the exchange.

Being on the other side of the planet doesn’t help lol.

Looking for one or two to Australia if anyone is willing to sell

Cheers
Serg

Mine came today. I like the color & M390 is a great steel. The F&F is good, the blade is centered, with no play, the grind looks perfect & it's sharp as hell. The blade didn't drop free at first, but a very minor pivot screw adjustment & it was gtg. The G10 texture feels a little more aggressive than my other PM2.

Can I get 180 180 180, 180! Let’s get 190 190 190! Gotta get 200 200 can I hear 200 200! 225 225 let’s go we’ve got a great buy here folks 225! 250...

Hi high will she go?

Seeing how it's a limited run, extremely popular, and sold out quicker than probably any PM2 in history, I'm not shocked at the prices, and wouldn't be surprised to see them going for $250 soon. There are people trying to sell sprints from years ago for $350-$375, that's more ridiculous than this awesome red (super rare in a knife, let alone for spyderco) and M390 going for what it is on the secondary right now.

Want to see ridiculous? There was a guy trying to sell a cold steel rajah 1 for $1000.

I'm okay with paying a small finder's fee (say 10%) and the cost of shipping but I can't support straight scalping. The cheapest I've seen on the exchange was $50 over the retail price. Beautiful knife and maybe one I won't end up getting my hands on.

Perfect storm of DLT selling them cheap, especially with the multiple purchase thing; popular steel; first time scale color.

`br4dz- `br4dz- , these sold slower than the BHQ 2000 run of the M4 model. That one had more hype and pre-selling going on though. DLT, I believe is less well known...might have been interesting to see this on BHQ to see how quickly they would have sold out.

Does anyone recall how long it took the Cruwear and S90 versions to sell out?

Assuming no more runs of these will be done, $50 over retail or $190 could seem down right cheap a few years down the road.

The orange g10/cts-xhp black dlc para 2 came out a couple of years ago and now commonly sells for $300 or more..

I remember that one

Got mine yesterday. Excellent fit and finish. A PM2 with m390 steel is such a nice combination. Even the red handle is coming more attractive to me.
I think I ll carry this one through the holiday. Maybe longer.

That sounds like an awesome combo. I like black and orange.

The flippers on the exchange disgust me. I know it's their right to sell it for whatever the market will bear but it's also my right to put you on /ignore.

Yea...I get getting a knife in and deciding it's not for you. But buying a knife just to flip it (or two at a discount) does leave a bad taste in my mouth. Especially with the prices I've seen them listed for. Knowing someone paid 140 for them and then charging over 200 is poor form.

Totally my opinion and totally thier right to do so. It just kind of takes away from the community aspect of things.

I used to feel this way, and I get that people still do.

But, knives are something I know about at this point, and for me personally, I'm thinking differently about it now that child support payments are cutting my income to just above subsistence. I don't know anything about investing, but I do know enough about knives to invest in them, so if I can invest a couple hundred dollars in sprint runs with a high ROI now, that means I have breathing room in my grocery budget in three months, or Christmas presents for my kids, or the ability to pay my health insurance deductible.

So I don't feel guilty about it anymore.

I'm not saying that you should feel guilty. It's you're right to do with your money as you wish. It can still leave a bad taste in someone's mouth though especially within a community setting.

I had no interest in this knife but knew that buying two at 140 could yield profit. Especially if I sit on it for 6 months. I think everyone here knew that once shipments were received we were going to start seeing red m390 para 2's on the exchange. I didn't expect to see them for over 200 (yet) but it is what it is.
