Heads up on Customs

While you're there, check out the Bush King by Andre DeVilliers. It may be familiar looking to Commanderphiles.

Jbravo,
Similar in style of blade and wave, but the styling isn't as sleek, looks alot chunkier where the Commander is sleek and slim. Nice knife.

Ummm... since the Wave is patented, shouldn't it be illegal for him to use it?

South Africa. But still. I'm sure he knows it's patented - that seems like a BIG "F-you, I don't care" to me.

Do a search on ADV, he asked if he could use it, and was told loud and clear NO!

Yes, he is a South African, who sells most of his work internationally. The legal system in South Africa is alive and well...speaking from peronal expierence.....patents are not foreign concepts in that country. You'd think he'd realise that the American knife market would pick up on the blatant rip-off of the "Wave" on Ernies folders.

I'm mean Yanks are dumb, but not that dumb  ;)

:D

ps I'm a South African too, I'm embarrassed to admit that right now

HCLeo,
I think by now that most people realize that being a South African does not necessarily make you any type of person, that is up to you individually to show us. Be proud to be who you are, and yes there are boneheads from there, but there are also good people from everywhere.

It doesn't look like a wave to me, it just looks like a ramp.

Dogman did you read the name of the knife and the description? It's a clear rip-off of Mr. Emersons design. The Bush King Wave!

Here is the link:
http://www.knifeart.com/bushkingwave.html

It even has the word "WAVE" in it's name! Then it goes on in the last (incomplete) sentence to describe how it's a very easy to open/ then it stops but I'm sure it was going to say knife. Why is it easy to open? Because it has the WAVE! Yeah some can and I'm sure will argue it's because it's soooo smooth to open up, but the reason for the easy opening is he ripped off the design.

Can't stand people who rip others off.

It also says in the description, and I quote: a "wave pocket opener". What more do you need? The guy was told he couldn't use the Wave, and he said "F-you" and did it anyway.

***Disclaimer*** I am a dumbass...I was looking at the Bush King Tactical.

Please be mesmirized by these fine knives as I slip out the back door:)

Brandon - no, but you DO have to pay them a yearly fee to use it.

**EDIT** for clarification: knifemakers who want to use the Spydie Hole have to pay Spyderco a yearly fee. Obviously, people who BUY the knives don't. It just didn't sound right after reading it. :D

LMFAO@ Dogman. :D

Dogman

No biggie. I wasn't venting at you and no need to apologize or slip out the back door.

In fact it's your post that prompted me to look at the knife and I just couldn't believe the BALL$ on this guy for doing that and the name as he did.

Some people......

I was actually considering purchasing a knife from this guy. Now? No way in hell.
