Ok, I know that this is a made in China cheap Smith and Wesson knife but these knives http://www.actiongear.com/cgi-bin/tame.exe/agcatalog/level4s.tam?xax=31175&M5COPY%2Ectx=27400&M5%2Ectx=27400&M2%5FDESC%2Ectx=Knives%20%2D%20Fixed%20Blades&level3%2Ectx=results%2Etam&query%2Ectx=smith%20wesson&backto=%2Fagcatalog%2Fresults%2Etam are on sale at Big 5 until tomorrow for $13. I got 2 and, while they are not high end customs, they are certainly worth the price. For some reason I think the blade shape is cool. So, for anyone who is interested...

Well apparently I got an infraction for pointing out that I bought a knife on sale at a specific store. Really, what the hell kind of bullshit is that? Wow I pointed out a knife on sale that I bought, on a knife site.

Mr Collucci, you can kiss my Irish ass. I'm glad that you have the time to give me a 10 point infraction, I'll be losing sleep over this. That finger I'm pointing at you- its not saying you're number one.

Maybe there should be a list of things that could get one an infraction. I don't suspect it could be all-inclusive without giving every moderator on the site a headache but at least it would be a starting point.

that being said, digitalrebelttu, if you have a valid complaint I sure as hell don't think that insulting a moderator is going to get you anywhere with it. Be reasonable- most people like to listen to reason. Be insulting and no one is going to give a damn what you have to say.

Deal spotting isn't allowed, otherwise the forums would be filled with "GREAT DEALS" from every dealer out there. We prefer that you support the dealers who support this site.

Spark, I looked in the rules, the deal spotting one only talks about online auctions. This is bullshit, I've gotten 2 infractions, this and one for posting a funny picture in a Bigfoot hunting topic, the rule there was so vague that I have no idea what was "inappropriate" about it. Really amazing how people can troll and join the Cold Steel or Strider bashing topic de jure and not get an infraction yet I get handed ones for stupid crap. And this point system, really pointless if there is no explanation of what it is, what the number of points means or anything. It feels like kindergarten.

Anyway, I'm gone, this stuff is just so stupid I can't see the point in discussing knives here, I'll let you go back to the Strider shit fest.

You know, for an adult you sure seem to have difficulty understanding that sometimes there's explicitly laid out rules, and sometimes there's unspoken rules, and sometimes when you break the rules, you are going to get dinged for them.

Instead of getting pissy and hurling insults back at the moderation staff, you could realize that we're not singling you out or persecuting you at all. You realize that we don't allow spam on the site, right? And that we restrict people selling to the trading forums, right? Then what makes you think we'd allow people to deal spot elsewhere on the site? Basic common sense.

What is this point system? Where can you see how many points you have or if you even have points? This is the first I have heard of it in over five years.

Apparently you didn't get the unwritten memo on the unwritten rules and the unwritten infraction system to punish violations of the unwritten rules.

This is a service & support question, but you can see your warnings & infractions in your user control panel. It takes 50 points for you to be banned, and most of the infractions have expirations on them, so unless you are going out of your way to act out, you don't need to worry about it.

EDIT: The FAQ has been updated to show all the current infractions, their point values, and more.
EDIT 2: This thread in service & support shows that Deal spotting isn't allowed: http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=356851
It's been a sticky for a long time. See under there the part about Moderator sass? Do you think telling Ken to kiss your ass would fall under that?

This little diatribe is also against the rules.

I will leave it to Ken to decide if he wants to issue the infraction.

In the future, Mr. digitalrebelttu, if you want to pop off, I suggest you take it to PM or email.

strange thread. i have had only one disagreement with a mod, and it was kept to pm's (for the most part), just seemed appropriate to me.

i have posted about it a couple times, but tried to keep my cool and remain objective.

like i have said before, i dont go to someone else's house and tell them what's what.

After a close reading of the infraction listing and applicable points here I've come to the conclusion that the mods seem to have a light hand with issuing them.

For instance, with digitalrebel's first and second post in this thread he has accumulated more than enough points to warrant an automatic banning according to the system. Interesting that he hasn't been banned, or had these infractions issued, and still seems so upset about how he was treated here.
