Thanks again all for care, concern, well wishes and prayers.
Perhaps a note of interest to the halt and lame around here who are forumites and within driving distance.
St. John's hospital in nearby Joplin, MO (45 minutes drive)where I'm getting tested and treated in their clinic next door was recently rated among the top 25 hospitals in the US by the no nonsense publication, Money Magazine, and I can see why. Equipment is latest and greatest. All facilities (labs, imaging, etc.) are on site within a few steps of one another. And staffers seem to be top notch.
The urology and cardiology group I found seem to be tops.
I'm impressed and pleased with the quality of care. Sad to say it is considerably better than Reno where I was getting five different opinions from five different people and running all over town from clinic to imaging facility to lab where nobody seemed to care a whole hell of a lot.
But seeing is believing. Can they cure the infection? Time will tell. Will my urolgist (experienced laparascopic surgeon) be able to remove only complex cyst and save kidney? Again, time will tell. I'm hoping the cardiologist has nothing to do except talk and charge money. One more time, time will tell.
Stay tuned.
