Health report for first of April. Long and not required reading.

Who was it said 'to die, now that would be an adventure'?

UB you are an inspiration to us all!

Glad you're feeling better.

More prayers for all who touch your circle.

Munk, you crack me up sometimes.....

UB you truly have a warrior spirit about you. Blessings & peace be with you and yours always.

Steve

really no words, every thing any one can say seem less then what should be said. you are rare and amazing I have no doubt you will be missed greatly and deeply it has been a pleasure to know you and know all that have been influenced by you

live out loud

eat drink and be merry ...
Hoka hey!

Bill, you've been in my prayers ever since I learned you were sick. It is good to have a re-affirmation that prayer works (not that I ever doubted... it just nice to know it is working).

You have brought together the best bunch of people on the 'net... given us a place to hang out... given us a common bond to hold us together. Surely there is a lot of good karma resulting from your works and it will come home soon enough.

I know I'm a better person from frequenting the cantina over the last few years and I thank you for the experience.

Alan

Dang, Bill you're expensive.

Besides the khukuri habit, now you've got me out buying my most favorite beverages and toasting you!

Don't know how long I can afford it, but keep it up.

cheers.

Thanks for keeping us in the loop Uncle, it's good to hear that you have your appetite back. As mamav said your words truly are inspirational. Don't ever change. :)

FWIW Uncle Bill, you've raised your nephews well. When we finally put away the knives (well, mostly anyway) and broke out the fire water, the first toast raised was to you...

When good men think well of you, it says a lot.

Uncle,

Thank you for helping the Marines, Sailors, and soldiers. There are those that don’t know how you helped w/the Khukris. Setting up FARPs w/in 20 hrs. of notice from Japan to support Anaconda, deploying to Southern P.I. on 2 hrs. notice, expediting supplies in Iraq (though the containers didn’t fare too well. All of this was due to your trusting me just from an email.

There are those you have helped who do not know you have helped them even indirectly.

You have earned the rest, hope it comes with neither pain nor misery.

jeezus--I buy one knife from this guy

put it up

pet it

2 years later I cut down 3 trees with it, and 3 days later...

I read this..my God UB I AM SO SORRY...

here you are taking this like the true man you really are...worrying about the cantina more than yourself...we all love you

"It's not over till it's over", you said. I find your words and spirit in the face of adversity is helping me cope with a situation I never expected and sure could have done with out. I hope I can maintain as well as you have, with as much dignity and control.

I thank all who have sent me well wishes and prayers from the bottom of my heart. Especially from a most Honorable group of Ladies and Gentlemen that I have had the pleasure to associate with.

So far I have a chance yet of beating this problem that I have and, hope our prayers will help each other and Uncle Bill at the same time.

Semper Fi: To all of HI forum and the headquarter and I'm not forgetting the shop on the other side of the world. :)

Uncle Bill:

I am fortunate that I found out about the reality of karma at a young age, and it has helped guide me since. I was at least perceptive enough to see that unkind or unethical behavior eventually came back at me with a real wallop, and all of a sudden the Golden Rule took on a whole new meaning.

My biggest regret is that I did not find this place several years ago, so could have known you better by now. BUT, if the way you have treated me and others on this forum over the last few months that I have been around is any indication of your karmic history, then I predict that you have a bunch more years to spend with us here at the Cantina before you travel on!

I hope that this temporary improvement continues and know that your great positive attitude can only help.

Regards,

Norm

Dammit Uncle Bill... I hate to throw this out on a public forum, but the feeling is so strong that I have to. I read your post and got the immediate feeling that you are longer for this world than you think you are. Your death day is farther away than you are anticipating. I can't claim to know much about your religion or beliefs, but my feeling is positive for you.

Hell of a compliment, Pappy, many thanks -- much appreciated.

If there is anything that you think I might be able to do to help and/or perhaps make things a little easier for you don't hesitate. Call, email, write or come visit. And, I'm dead (Freudian slip?) serious about this. You're in probably the worst situation you have ever been in so far in this life. It doesn't make you any less a man to ask for a little help if you need it, just makes you smarter.

In the clearing stands a boxer, and a fighter by his trade
And he carries the reminders of every glove that laid him
down or cut him ’til he cried out in his anger and his shame
I am leaving, I am leaving, but the fighter still remains
