Heat coloring Titanium ??

When you heat titanium up with a torch or in an oven to get a nice purple/blue,
will this have any effect on the titaniums strength? I don't want to mess up the springy lock strength. Will this coloring hold up well? Also, do any of you know what temp to set your oven to get this nice purple/blue in ti?

This table suggests that temperature will affect the hardness and springiness of 6Al4V Ti, but also suggests it happens at higher temps than you will be working at:

I'm assuming the "Mechanical data" is being discussed in degrees Celsius.
