what do you guys use to check the temp of your forge. and where do you get it ? i'm from small town usa, so no place around here to buy any thing.

is where I get my stuff. Get a pid and the kiln thermocouple under sensors and you can have your temp. add a ssr and a electric valve for your fuel and you can actually control your fire with it.

Ottumwa is a town I used to visit about once a month. Myself and two other gentlemen were named "Supplier of the Year" for John Deere's Ottumwa plant back in 2000.

My step daughter lives in nearby Fairfield, Iowa, so I know the area very well.
