HEAT/F Folder

Thanks, Ram.

I love that all-Ti design. But I don't understand why DPX and LionSteel make their folders so stiff to close. What really is the point?

To give you grip strength through exercise! :D

I just got the full Ti version with the Niolox blade.

The machining on the Ti is really unique. Slab sided Ti framelocks are so passé. One wonders how other makers can still sell them when Lionsteel is doing such amazing work now.

Sure am glad I waited to buy a Heat. This one is nice.

I purchased a limited all Ti Heat recently. I really like this knife but had to make several adjustments. First the clip was kind of too loose. I discoverded that the screw that secures it to the standoff was to long and hitting the inner tube of the standoff. Therefore it could not be tightened all the way down. Had to grind off a bit. Also had to rebend the clip a bit, so that it still had a bit of contact with the lockbar scale when open. The edges on the lockbar cutout were really sharp and cutting in my hands in the open position. So took it apart and smoothed them out. As I said I really like the heft and design but there seems certainly room for improvements.

Hey! Did that First Run Heat come with the Mr. Skull pivot adjustment tool?? j/c Thanks!

Received my DPx HEAT/F 3D Titanium Limited Run Serial# 050 today. Smooth, blade centered and no sticky lock issues. This is a GREAT little beast. At 4.40 ounces it's only slightly heavier than my HEAT/F First Run's 4.12 ounces.

I have the Techno and a HEAT, and IMO there is no comparison - the DPx is far superior. The bottle opener/wave feature, ergonomics, solid feel, heft...It's one of my favorite work day carries.

I recently received the all-Ti HEAT and it is so-o cool!

But my Techno operates much more smoothly.

I still like the HEAT. But I have owned four DPXes and all have been sticky or difficult to close. I returned one and still own three.

Mine (OD) isn't sticky and is fairly smooth to deploy, but the lock bar doesn't always fully engage, especially if I've been fiddling with it a bunch. There's still never any blade play.

Hi all,

I just bought a First Run HEAT. Solid piece IMHO.

How does one tighten the glass breaker bit? Is there a special tool involved?

Regards,
MEOR

Recently added a HEAT/F Shred CF (Sleipner) to my HEAT/F First Run (Sleipner) and HEAT/F 3D Titanium Limited Edition 050/250 (Niolox).

It should have come with a tool with two ends. One end adjusts the pivot and the other the glass breaker / clip screw.

The newer ones use hex tool.
