Since I can't really find aluminium plate with proper size. My friend offer me his salt pot with temperature controller.

I need to know the proper salt temperature to quench CPM-3V? Austentizing at 1080c

And would it risk any proplem if I put it in liquid nitrogen pot straight after quenched?

target tempering is 200c, 3 times 2 hours each.

I would appreciate any in-depth suggestion, Thank.

If quenching in molten salts, the salt pot temperature is at the Ms conversion point. Once the blade has equalized in temperature to the salt pot ( 60 seconds will be more than long enough), the final conversion can be done by hanging the blade in still air. Finish the air cooling with cryo if you are doing that, then temper three times.

I can't find any info about 3V Ms point. I'm thinking of quench it in 200c salt since that was target tempering, Not sure if it too low...

You don't really have to be exact with the Ms temperature .That may be hard to find anyway due to things like dynamics etc. The whole purpose is to minimize the stresses of quenching.
" That sounds about right to me " also .

Thank to both of you, Stacy and mete, I appreciate that.

I would like to ask you guys another favour. Would it risk any trouble to do a salt/oil quench while the blade is still in stainless foil wrap?
