Hello Scooter!
I have a technical sheet about heat treating Damasteel, which is a powdermetallurgic stainless steel with one of the two components being PMC 27, which is the same as 12C27. I think the data of the sheet will work on your bar of 12C27, too.
Hardening requires slow heating to 1050deg. CELSIUS (sorry, no deg. F available).
Holding time at hardening temperature is 20 minutes. Quenching in oil. Use quenching oil. If not available, use olive oil (which smells better, anyway).
Tempering is 2 hours at 200 deg. celsius.

Hey, thanks alot for the info!

Very much appreciated.

If I use olive oil I can make french fries while I'm queching!

Dinner and a Knife...I wonder if that might make a good TV program?

Thanks again,

Darren
