I am just starting to make knives actually I decided to pick this up because my dad wanted to turn my great great grandfathers saw blade into knives for all the boys of our family. So i need help with the heat treatment for this steel. I had it tested (perk of dad operating a foundry) see attached photo. Any suggestion and explanations of why would be greatly appreciated.

You will likely find the answers you are seeking on this site, but in another section.

Take a look in the knife makers section. I would likely close this thread and repost it in the corresponding area for the best results, or ask to have it moved by a moderator.

This is where you should ask:

Good luck and welcome aboard. You are Very lucky to have this info at your disposal. You might even be able to cut your blanks and send the knives out for optimal heat treat by a service if you supply this paperwork.

Bill is correct, hit the triangle in the corner of your post and ask a mod to move it or they will probably find it and move it eventually.

Welcome, bladeforums is THE place for knife info period.
