I usually use Peter's for everything, but sometimes I'd like to prototype one or two knives and I hate paying $30/blade every time. Is there anyone that does ht on these steels that I could send them to a bit cheaper? Although, I think AEB-L needs cryo, so I may be paddling upstream here.

Maybe switch to air hardening steel and send it to Texas KM?

I mean where to send them, not actual regimen. I really, really, really wish I had a ht oven, it would solve these type of questions. I'd just do it myself. :)

Peter's for HT...hands down.

I send all my AEB-L there..... as well as most everything else. Even with three HT ovens, I only do HT at home for a rush job or fun knives in carbon steel. Nothing I did could match what Brian does at Peter's.

You could use TKS or Truegrit, but if it was me, I would just grind up five or six more knives and send the batch to Peter's.

Brian, I suggest you contact our own Darrin Sanders.

For knowledgeable HT of smaller batches or one offs, and great one-on-one customer service, he will likely be hard to beat.

When I talked to Darrin he said he no longer did Air quench steel. I would suggest Buck. They have a great price and my friend Laurence has been using them for years and cant say enough good things about them.

Darrin has done some 52100 for me. He does a fantastic job. I think Stacy is right, just grind a few more and send in a batch.
