Heat treat/hardness of smaller HI knives?

Yes, he is, Nasty; do you think he'll believe the bit about giving away one out of the next ten khuks he buys?

Thanks, gentlemen.

munk...isn't Samoand required to buy the Cantina a round before we welcome him? ;)
as long as we are talking about booze (as opposed to ammunition) :)

Or too much booze...unless one has a problem with it or you are mixing the two.

You people who can drink all you like without penalty should be taxed at a higher rate by the Federal Govt. than I.

Ah, that's even lower than the ratio of my khuks that wound up being given away as gifts. Well, not quite given away - there is a superstition regarding "gift of a knife", so I'd sell them for 10 c :)

Next round is on me. Hope you fellas like gin.
Mmmmmm, Mmmm, Gin & Grapefruit juice with a salted rim = Salty Dog!!!!:D Ugh, I loveum Salty Dogs!!!!
Especially on a real hot summer day, man do they go down easy!!!!:D

Not changing the subject but I had my first shot of Absolute vodka a couple of weeks ago. I was blown away at how smooth it is!
Now I finally understand how people can drink vodka straight.:D
I'm now wondering how the Raspberry Absolute they've been advertising is. :footinmou :D

It's great. I make a cocktail with Raspberry Absolute, Lemon syrup, Cranberry and a touch of mint...tastes great, less filling.

This thread is a terrific example of why I live at this forum. Thanks for avoiding what looked to be an immanent flame war and turning it into a chuckle-fest. Good work cantinistas.
Now, as far as vodka is concerned... If your local watering hole has it, try Svedka from Sweden. Very low price, and smooth. Now, in my opinion, drinking vodka straight, is dangerous. Adding a bit of ice, a drop of dry vermouth and - if time permits - an olive --- viola, you have a dry martini. Who can criticize a dry martini?
Shaken or stirred.

Whay is that Brian? The Absolute was nice and smooth, Svedka eh? Cheaper than the Absolute, just as good or perhaps better?:)

Yvsa,
Svedka vodka @ $18.99 for 1.75 L. Nuff sed?
Also, for you martini drinkers, check out Gallo dry vermouth. Cook's Magazine rated # 1 taste-wise ($2.99 /750 ML)
You're on your own as far as the olives and ice is concerned ;)

Martinis are ONLY made with Gin. AL
If that's so then why not just drink it straight outta the bottle? That's something I can't do with gin although I have known people who could, and did.

Olives are good, but take up way too much valuable glass space. ;) A drop or two of olive juice actually makes a Martini sweeter for some reason. Or is it just me?
As far as gin goes, you're technically correct, but I draw the line at adding all kinds of liqueurs and fruit juice and calling it a Martini! That's over the top. :barf:

Here's the formula from my 1947 edition of "Professional Mixing Guide"
4 parts dry gin, 1 part dry vermouth. Stir in cracked ice, strain into cocktail glass dressed with olive or pearl onions. Twist lemon peel over top.

Strangely, there are virtually NO drinks in this book using vodka. Perhaps it was considered subversive in 1947?
