Help! I need to get some O1 blades heat treated for Christmas. I have used Peter's before but their backlog is too long right now according to their web page. I looked at the stickies and checked out TKS but found out that they only do stainless.

Any other ideas? Is anyone familiar with Byington Blades located in Santa Clara, CA? Turned them up on a Google search. The price is competitive but I don't know anything else.

Thanks in advance!

How about some more Info on the blades, thickness, length, width and desired hardness. How many blades and how fast do you need them by?

The reasion I ask is I could possibility help out but not knowing any details Im not sure.

Thanks! I have 20 set to send to get the most bang for the buck from Peters. For Christmas, I need 2 for certain and maybe 2 or 3 more depending on whether interest turns into orders. They are 1/8" by 8" - 9" long.

I tried to PM you but I couldn't get it to go through.

Sorry, I forgot 2 things. These are all from 1 1/2" stock and like to get around 59-60 on hardness.

Also, if it winds up being just the 2 certain blades, I may just switch to 1084 and HT myself. I priced those too low anyway.

TruGrit did my recent O1 blades, worked out pretty well (1/8" X 1 1/2" X 9") at 61. They may be able to turn them a bit quicker for you.

Thanks. I looked at one heat treater over the weekend, I think TruGrit, that was more expensive than some of the rest. I'll check again later this morning.
