This may drag on a bit, but I thought it might help those who don't have clue, and entertain those who do. I'm here to serve. I am nearly done the controls. Two SSRs with heat sinks, ramp/soak PID with SSR out controls, various other things- fuse holders, DPDT toggle for the master on, and that "flip up cove to arm" switch I have desired since I first saw Airwolf as a kid for the element cut off. All in a 8"/4"/4" junction box. More to come.

Finally got it some more done on this. My first attempt at welding. This WIP can be a good counter to JT's thread, but for people who aren't into measuring or planning.

I'm building a similar control box for an old burnout furnace I just got working. Following! ... And yes, love the arming switch!

This is awesome. Did you use a router for the heating element channel? And what kind of element did you use?

I used a hand saw for the straight sections and a dremel for the curves. I coiled my own elements from a-1 kanthal wire.

Can't tell from the pictures if you already did this, but make sure your coils sit "down" in the trough you cut out for them. Angling the bottom side of the trough down will help them sit well and avoid the tendency to jump out of the trough when they get up to temperature and expand a bit.
