Happy Monday! I was recenbtly given an older Thermalyne 2000 model # F-C2025P. From the research I've done, this is called a "muffle furnace" and is used for scientific and engineering purposes. Interior dimensions are 4" x 4" x 9.5" so it is pretty small. My largest blade (for now) is only about 8.5" OAL so it could be useful for a while, but it is not something I would want to put a huge amount of cash into. There is no programming, just a simple dial to set the desired temp.

Photos of my unit are added below. It supposedly has a bad themostat and all heating elements are missing. The heating elements that I was able to find are built in to additional ceramic material and appear to be on all 4 sides of the interior. They are also way too expensive to use those for any type of upfit/refit. Since there are a number of folks who build their own HT oven with commonly available heating elements and thermocouples, I was wondering if using those might be possible with this. I'd like some opinions. Again, not looking to spend a huge amount of cash on this as I would like to get something that is longer and programmable, but this would at least let me hold soak times for O1 which I cannot do with bricks and my propane weed burner.

Well sorry, but I can't seem to upload any attachments besides these 3, although the Posting Permissions says I should be able to.

You will spend a lot of money fixing it and still have a minimally useful HT oven. Save up for a Paragon or Even Heat.

Thanks, that's what I was thinking. I think I'll scavenge the fire bricks out for future use.
