I see lots of discussion on heat treating but just short notes on the draw. I have done searches on the net for 15n20 draw specs for spring temper and cannot find charts for 1084, L6. I am doing some blades for a machine made for a very specific purpose, removing floor tile. I invented the machine 10 yrs. ago to do this and we used just blue spring but have made a few for a client and we are now trying to better the blade. Anyone know where I can find some good charts. Thanks.

The specific issue you are trying to correct may be of help in trying to come to a resolution.

I am trying to find the best Rockwell hardness for blades on these machines Using different steels. I will be heat treating steel at 55 hardness, 54 hardness etc. to see which works better for each different machines. I am hunting for charts that say (for example), 15n20 steel 600 degree draw = 55 rockness scale then numbers for 54, 53 etc. I am hunting not just 15n20 but L6, 5160. Thanks.

Dan, I have a collection of charts on the resources page on my site. I have the L6 data sheet on there, but I've also had trouble finding some of the sheets. I add 'em as I find 'em.

While I'm unable to offer any help with the charts I can say that one thing I have learned from this site is that it is difficult at best to say with any surety what hardness you may have achieved without a hardness tester.
