Heat Treat Titanium....

I was wondering if a blow torch would be a good method.. To change the color of a titanium handle.... I have a CRKT S-2 that i would like to do it to... Any advice would be a great.. I have never done it before.... I have access to a small propane torch i used for some plumbing work... Would that work.... Any ideas on what causes lighter v/s darker colors..?

I flame anodized my M16-13T with a Mapp gas torch, it starts changing colors right around the temperature where it starts to glow, I belive that's the curry temperature. The dark colors hinderer and others get I think is from very high temeratures well outside of what a propane torch can do.

Will this temperature effect the quality of the lock?
