Hi guys,
I'm starting to make a knife from a file and my question is will lyme(sp?) work to harden it back up? Or will oil work better?

Use oil, lime is not a quenching medium that I am aware of. -Matt-

Some use lime as they use vermiculite or ashes to slow cool steel for annealing.
