Hello again,

Does anyone know of people who do small quantity HT in the Quebec/Ontario region?

Thanks

You could try some machine shops in your area, there has to be some one in Montreal that can do it, I would start calling around, if they say they can't do it ask who they would send their stuff too.

If you get stuck I am doing a run of 3-v, S90v, D2, and S35vn next month with cryo in liq NO2, I would throw it in with those batches for free if you pay shipping.
I live in Sudbury Ontario
happy grinding

Just send them to canadiankinfemaker supplies. In Alberta . Rod will do one at a time if you want. Shipping is no different if you ship to Ontario or Alberta. Plus Rob does a great job on heat treat.

Hi Guys, thanks.
MeatRobot, I know of some heat treaters around but they are industrial and not at all interested in doing a little knife blade for anyone.
Thanks for your offer, it is very decent of you, I will remember that.

Kevin, Rob did a couple of knives for me long ago and you are right, he does a great job and he is a great guy. I was just hoping there might be someone closer.

Thank you both for your replies.

Mike

There's a place in Mississauga Allied Heat Treat 905 677 8000. They use to do knifes for knifemakers years ago. I've used them in a very long time.
But for me if I was going to get my blades done Rob would be my first choice.
These day my blades goes to Peters or buck this as nothing to do with Rob's service it's about price . I normally send 50 at a time so I just get a better deal for the US.

Kevin, 50 knives at a time. Wow. What type of knives do you make and where do you get the time?
Do you ever have any issues with cross-border shipping of knives? I have always been concerned about that.
Thanks for the Allied tip.

Frank, I think our posts crossed - I know Rob and yes, he does an excellent job, I agree. It is just about logistics, nothing else.

Thanks guys.
