Heat treating 01

I am making my first folder from 01. I would like to harden the spring to 40-45. The blade to 57-60. I know how to harden the blade but not the spring. Help please.

Not sure about the oven tempature..but you can draw temper it with a propane torch. Just get a nice blue color and it should be about right. Try it on a couple of scraps.

Heat treat the spring just like the blade, 1500-1525 or non-magnetic and quench in oil that is 125deg. Then you'll have to clean the scale off of the spring so you can see the metal and heat it till it turns a light blue with a torch. There you go!
