Heat treating AEB-L?

Hello all,

I'm not sure if this is the right forum category to post this in, but here it is; I bought some AEB-L a couple months back from New Jersey Steel Baron assuming I had all the equipment to heat treat. Upon research (after delivery, unfortunately) I realized I am not able to reach and sustain such precise temperatures with my homemade forge, nor am I able to get it as cold as it needs to be to harden correctly. As I intend to make a knife out of it, this is very necessary. My question is, are there any smiths out there that are able or can recommend some one who is able to heat treat this properly to a specific Rockwell hardness? And approximately how much will it cost me?

Thanks for the help!

Peter's heat treatment, go to the website, print an order form, fill it out, mail it with your knife to Peter's. $25 per knife, $100 for 4-20, same steel.

Where are you? A local machine shop might do it, but the one I've used is in SC.

JT does a great job of HT'ing - he's on this site and should be able to find his contact info

Okay, thank you. I'm new to this forum and don't quite know how to operate it, wasn't able to find him when I searched JT. Could you/someone tag him in this thread? I don't even know if that's possible... thanks again!
