Heat treating and Gunkote question...

I'm about to finish my first knife and send it off for heat treat. (D2 steel)
I pland on using KG gunkote to finish the metal when it gets back from HT.
Will baking the knife at 300 deg. to cure the finish mess up the heat treating?

I can bake longer at a lower temp and still get a full cure, but the hotter you get the teflon the more durable it gets. I'm really looking for a hardcore finish.

300 isn't too hot, you'll be fine.

What is too hot? Could I get away with 350?

You can get away with 500 and not worry. After that it will start degrading performance.
