Heat Treating M2

So I got a few planar blades from a local lumber yard, they told me that the blades are M2 and M3. I went ahead and tried to forge on it. So far there's no cracks so I guess I worked it in the right temperature. Before I proceed any further, I'm just wondering what's the heat treat procedure on this. I have a gas forge and I have a glass making kiln.

I know the more experience guys would tell me that I'm crazy and maybe a little stupid for tackling this as a beginner, but learning is learning. So any tips and tricks would be appreciated.
