Heat Treating Relish

I finally decided how to simulate the effect of the HTR.

Take a few atomic fireballs - the good ones - the ones that have a layer of sugar, layer of cinnamon oil, layer of sugar, layer of cinnamon oil, etc - cruch them up and mix in another tablespoon or so of cinnamon oil and whatever else is good to make a thick goopy syrup of this stuff. Then swish it around your mouth like Listerine. Yep, gotta be the functional equivalent, without the fresh minty effect though.

That is good news. I just used the last of the other last weekend in a big batch of Red Beans I cooked. Man they were good to. Red Beans and some of my wife's cornbread, man you just can't beat it. :)

Got the relish yesterday! It's got the Brylcream factor for sure. Not hatefully hot, but it's a good warmer! A little smoky by itself for my taste so I'll probably mix it in with some salsa to get it just right ;)

My sentiments exactly, VERY smoky but not too high on the hot side, good flavor!
 
I will be making a non-smoked version, the end of the month.:eek: I will be blending it with Portagee Red Hot Peppers.:D
