I have been currently treating my own O1 steel. However I may start using different steels. Anybody here have a recommended place they use? Looking for good work at a respectable place. Thanks all!

Thanks my friend. They were the first I looked at. Texas knife has better pricing it seems. Are they a lesser quality than Peter's?

Peter's heat treat is probably the best in the business. They have a very nice set up there and are ISO 9001 certified.

Ok cool. I'm new to knife making (obviously) and studying metallurgy and learning different steels. That being said I will soon venture away from O1 and into other steels that I don't have the ability to treat at home.

The "issue" with Peters and other guys like Metallurgical Solutions, the salt pot guys in Providence, is that they have minimum orders. Not so bad if you have 10 or more blades, but it can get a little painful if you only have a couple. With that said, Peters only requires that the austnizing temperature be the same for two whole batch, so if you have blades made for different steels that can be austneinzed at the same temp, they will temper them differently for "free." They used to be able to do that with CPM3V and AEB-L, but I am not sure if they changed the temps for 3V now that they are using the Nate recipe.
