Hey guys, its hot here in Edmonton today and I have been cruising around the city on my Harley in tank top and shorts but I am wearing my Asics. Just wondering what type of boots you guys would recommend for wear with shorts? i'm not going to wear my biker boots or cowboy boots in shorts as that would not be socially acceptable:D

Doc Marten Rivert, available in brown and black, but only in full sizes, so if you're a half, go one size bigger.

Timberland also makes some clean-looking boots that should fit under your shorts nicely.

Looking cool on the Harley is great, but scraping embedded dirt/gravel/glass out of flesh is very painful. Plus the scar tissue doesn't look nice at all. They use stiff brushes at ER to remove the crud from your body. Hot in Calgary, too, but there's still a lot of gravel on the corners, not to mention moronic cagers everywhere. Best advice is to cover your pink body with PPE when you ride.

I know but it feels so good. I usually do wear proper PPE when riding but the last two days have been hell on me under the heavy leathers.

Pretty much this. Gotta throw out the ATGATT. I'm in Florida and rolling out with shorts and a t-shirt feels great, but once I'm moving the vents in my jacket make me feel the same way. Don't worry about appearances, get a riding jacket with CE armor and some kind of vent system.

Why bother?

Boots are one of the last things you need when you're riding in shorts and a t shirt. I've never rode without a full face helmet, armored jacket, leather gloves and often add thick jeans and steel toed boots too.

Just rode yesterday in 90+ heat with full gear on.

Dress for the fall not for the ride

I've seen some fine looking women wearing short shorts and over the knee boots !

Road rash will make the lack of comfort wearing PPE seem trivial. People in Arizona thought I was crazy wearing PPE in 110+ degree days with the asphalt burning through my boots but, enduring that everyday is better then one minor case of road rash IMHO.
