Heavy duty boots that look good with shorts?

Ride safe. We all want motorcyclists to live long happy healthy lives. As roads and cities become more overcrowded, getting a few more cagers off the road and out of their 4-wheel barges does the environment and everyone else some good too.

I can't fault you for your feelings on riding with less gear! Being hot sucks! Honestly, over the ankle boots, shorts, and a t-shirt as a package is better than flip-flops, shorts and a t-shirt. I see people all of the time rolling out with Havaianas, shorts, and a muscle shirt. I shudder.
Perhaps Danner Mt. Lights, or another lower cut hiker type. My Chippewa 6 inch Crazy Horse boots would still, in my opinion, look odd with shorts.
Not to pile on, but my philosophy is, "If it's too hot for gear, it's too hot to ride."
You gotta decide for yourself though, comfort vs safety.
To your original question, IF I were riding in shorts and casual shoes, I'd want at least leather high-top basketball-style shoes. Or leather hiking boots.
