Here’s a new design out of the shop. Heavily inspired by the Busse Battle Mistress 🙂 This is A very sweet Camp/Chopper in 5160 and black canvas Micarta ! It’s 24oz of pure cutting fun! The blade is 1/4in thick and 10 1/8in tip to handle. Overall it is 15 3/8in. The scales are sculpted to form a secure and comfortable interface between tool and user. The sheath is black Boltaron with a reversible belt loop. Price is $375 shipped in the US.

Really like that you've been putting a flare on the end. I bought one of your bolo-ish knives off someone here about 8 years ago. Love the look, the balance is fantastic, and the steel performs amazingly. Only thing I'd change is the straight slabs of micarta, but even with that it's still one of my favorite knives.

I utilize the stock removal method for my knives. My heat treat is closer to a bladesmith’s methods however resulting in a hardened edge and softer spine with a visible hardening line. My blades are tempered to RC57-59.
The hardening line on my knife was a surprise (hard to photograph) and is absolutely beautiful!

If it’s not a trade secret or anything, may I ask how you get that line so crisp and how you get it to curve?? I’m guessing a very careful application of clay but really no idea…

No super secret squirrel rules to it! I “paint” the area I want to harden with the torch then I quench 👍
