Heavy duty chopper?

Have a Swamp Rat 1311 and Rucki on the way. The 1311 should be here Wednesday and I just ordered the rucki. I'm seriously drooling over the rucki. The 1311 is just to pass the time till the rucki arrives.

Sounds like a CS Recon scout fits the bill perfectly for what you want.
1095 high carbon steel speaks for itself, over 8 mm thick which gives the blade good mass
For chopping and splits wood like an axe especially with the full flat grind.
If your looking for a survival knife predominately then you may even want to consider grinding off the rear portion
Of the hilt to allow you to choke up for finer tasks, there's pictures on the Internet of this modification.

I have been using the recon scout for years in a military role and I think it's a great blade for a lot of tasks especially
Survival. I also have the fallkniven A2 and i think the recon scout chops just as well if not better and at a fraction of the cost.
