Heavy duty folder for ~$160 and under

I would skip the 0200, i think its outclassed by the other knives. The Adamas is fantastic and a real tank. Its also a pretty decent cutter for being so beefy. And, as much as I like the 0550, I just think the 0560 is better all around and it just reminds me of that every time I hold it.

But, of those three I would definitely not get any of them. I would buy a Contego or Spyderco Gayle Bradley because they are both extremely good values. Plus the Contego is one of the best cutting knives regardless of size. Its ground razor thin and still has stupid thick blade stock. And like the Gayle Bradley, CPM M4 is a steel everyone should own. If M390 and O1 had a baby, they would name it CPM M4.

Forgot to mention Kershaw/Zero Tolerance have another perk thats going for them which I like if you break the knife blade you can send it in and have them replace it for $10/$30 (kershaw/ZT). So don't hesitate to use a Kershaw or ZT knife use it when you need to, and if something happens get it repaired there is no need to baby it. Not saying to purposely abuse it, but I know with me this alone will make sure any knife I intend to put to work and not just EDC use will probably be either a kershaw/ZT or a cheap knife (not sure if any other knife makers have a similar policy, haven't looked as they typically have more designs I like than other companies).

I'll be the one to step out of the Ti Framlock box and suggest a good back lock... Get a Cold Steel Recon1 (blade flavor of choice) with the Tri-Ad lock.
For $60 you get a light, long, super tough knife that is easy to sharpen in the woods. I always put some stripper on the blade to take their crap coating off, but they have an aluminum handle version now that skips the cheap coating. You don't have to pay a ton get get a lot of knife. AUS 8 isn't a super steel, but it's pretty decent for anything I've ever needed. I'd recommend a good little fixed blade 2-4" for backpacking duties.. far more suited than a folder. I want my folders to slice.. like what they are intended to do.. not split wood.

My opinions on the 550 and Adams... 550 is bulky for the blade length. The Adams is WAY too heavy and bulky. I sold them both. I don't see the need for that big of a folder. I'll take a fixed blade of thinner profile over both any day. An Izula or alike necker will cut better and carry smaller when in the woods.

The 0550 is the best all-arounder. Just email Dave, I guarantee he'll do right by you. Good luck.

iv gotten obviouslly used and returned knives from amazon and they were "shipped and sold by amazon" as a brand new in box knife.

Same here. I recently bought a Delica4 ZDP (sold directly by amazon) and It arrived in a smashed, opened box. No major signs of use on the knife but it had obviously been opened and taken out before I bought it.

Iv gotten spydercos thathave had the boxes tapped back shut with regular packing tape and other various garbage.. amazon is too shady for me to buy a blade from them again.

go watch the hard use test of the cqc 7 and the adamas on youtube vininull channel, both locks fail..zt 0350 holds up

Can you link the griptillian test. I've seen quite a few of his videos can't find the griptillian one.
I have seen his Adamas one, and he was very impressed.

OP
I would go for the Adamas. The ZT and Emerson have nothing on the Axis lock and beefiness of the Adamas.

Benchmade has long offered $25 satin blade replacements or $35 for coated. I've gotten M390, and S30v blades replaced, no issues.

Still stuck on the Adamas and 0550
Adamas on Blade HQ is $129
0550 is $165

Also for the one who said Cold Steel Recon 1, yeah no, it may have a fantastic lock, but it has very bad steel and a tanto blade is not something I necessarily need. I want a heavy duty folder, not a folder that gets a lot of it's paint off from opening a tin can or it's tip breaks off easily compared to the Adamas or 0550. I also know about Kershaw/ZT's fantastic warranty considering I have two Kershaw blades myself, one of which, my Blur, I was stupid and tried using as a screwdriver and chipped a little off but I've sharpened it nearly completely out.

The all black plain edge adamas on knifeworks cost $1 less with shipping. If you want the tan one, then damn, its out of stock. I have the tan one, its great, the 0550 feels great too but the lock bar cut out is thinner than the pocket clip.
