Heavy Duty Headlamp?

As for me I carry enough on SAR missions thanks. Between medical, survival, rescue gear food and clothes I do not want any more add on weight. Last night I trained with a 50lb pack with snowshoes 6 hrs 4ft of snow for fun.:D

I know, I know, you tell us every post. As to your 15 bizillion power spot light how is it for a walking light, how much run time you get on the low side, different tools specially adapted to the job at hand.

As for spending the money, nice recovery. Chris

WE actually only use it in high probability areas or shoreline searching as its quite cumbersome. I rarely use it on low probably 60 mins on low. I get 30 on high. Its why we use it in short bursts.

As an aside I cant use a headlamp that needs recharging or takes weird batteries as I am provided regular AA and have to carry all spare batts for all devices which add up in weight. It needs to be a common battery and have the ability to swap out for new ones in the field. Kind of limits the choices from a logistical standpoint.

That said I am always on the lookout for the newest version or better. The gang at CPF's were great in helping me keep up to date and recommending me lights.

'Petzl will be debuting their newest headlamp this year, 325 lumens of LED power (!) and a plug in recharge feature that will only take 2 hours.'

Where is this from? I know they're upgrading the Myo with a Cree to give it 80 Lumens over the 50 it has now, but I've heard nothing about this rechargeable super-light.

Petzl Myo. Not my first choice for everything but great for beach fishing here. Remote pack holds 4*C cells. Even on full power it'll burn all night.

I have the Myo 5 belt also. Great for cold weather since you can keep the batteries in your jacket.

Once the battery pack got shut outside the car door and destroy. Called Petzl and they sent me a new one for free.
