Heavy Duty medium sized folder.

Hey read through all your suggestions and it looks like I'm gonna be researching a bit before I purchasing anything. STR your right about a tool box beater, I don't want to be that upset if and more then likely when I lose the knife.

I've looked into the salt series and the Byrd Cara-Cara with the g-10 handle and they both look like they can get the job done. I'll revisit this when I purchase the knives and let yall know how they hold up over a few days of heavy use.

Now I need to figure out which multi-tool and which compact led flashlight I need to get and my field kit will be complete.

For me, I'd suggest

a Spyderco Endura 4 or Delica 4--Tough! (I carried one off and on over the last two years. Ussed it without abandon and it still kicks)

BM Large Griptilian--Another tough one. But it has a larger, grippy handle for those days when you may work with gloves.

Cold Steel Voyager (pick a model)--they can take a beating.

Spyderco Byrd Cara Cara G-10

All of these are well below your price range and won't hurt the wallet if lost or damaged. Plus they all can be sharpened/ maintained with ease. Hope this helps
