Heavy Duty Production Folders

Why do you find The Military hard to sharpen?

I've found the Military to be much too abrasion resistant for many hones (including a stock SharpMaker 204), and it developed this weird wire edge. I ended up convexing the edge with wet/dry paper to solve the problem. 440V is a piece of cake once the edge is convexed.

I just recieved a CRKT M1-03K. This thing is built heavy.
Thick blade and liners with LAWKS. It's another nice design

If multi-tools count, then I would go with my Gerber Pro-Scout. You survive by using your wits and CREATING other tools. What is the advantage of limiting yourself to only one single blade?

If multi-tools are out of the running: My second pick would be a large locking Swiss Army Knife, like the Victorinox Locksmith. I would miss the pliars but it has plenty of other tools.

Now if I had to choose a single-blade tactical folder, I guess my Spyderco G-10 Police would do just fine.
You're probably thinking it's not strong enough with its thin fine point...but if you need to pry something, then you can carve yourself a pry-stick. Why risk your only blade in a survival situation doing things that a knife was'nt meant to do in the first place?

Good luck,
Allen.

Not me. The last knife I'd want in a survival situation is one that doesn't even cut efficiently. Excellent knife choice.

The best really "big" heavy duty folder I own is the Tops Magnum. Really big and beafy and it works like a fixed blade, when open. Do a search and check out the remarks. Quite an amazing knife. It is way too big to carry as an EDC, but would make a great choice as a survival folder.
