I own all these (except for the SP50,51,52,53). You can't go wrong with any of them. If you can sharpen & have a Dremel tool, you can modify any of these to your exact useage. I took my 12" Ontario machete, chopped the D-handle-made a 2 finger choil, jimped the spine, made a bowie tip, a fire steel flat spot & made it razor sharp. For the money, if you screw up, so what, get another one.
If you are worried about strength---don't be.-----
Look closely at this pic, specifically at the tip---see how much it is bent/deflected ? Because it has an EXCELLENT heat treat, it went back to perfectly straight, all by itself, once i batoned it all the way through this wicked/twisted/knotted piece of black walnut. Not bad for $23 !
