Heavy Heart in a Spec-Ops

Thanks for all the comments and suggestions fellow Hogs and Piglets.

I've finished it now. I put in an other hole, Sparks idea, and then used the original bolt to fix the liner in.

I first drilled the hole in the liner with a 5.5mm bit. Then I inserted the liner into the sheath and marked by feeling where the centre of the hole was.

With the liner removed again, I used a soldering iron to put a hole in the nylon.

I also added two small, stick-on rubber feet inside the liner at the bottom, to make sure it still had some gap after I bolted it tight. Forgot to take a picture of that but you get the idea.

The bolts needed shortening a little as they were originally sized to fit through the thick eyelets. They're only brass though so that took about five minutes with a file.

Finally, with the holes lined up I bolted it back together. Fits like a glove!

Sorry about the quality of some of the pics - my camera battery died during the shoot.

I did the same thing to my RTAK II sheath to fit my CGFBM. I only had to cut it
about 2.5 inches down the plastic liner.

Great work by the way. Thats a nice looking sheath rig you got there.

Nice Job! Gotta love those Heavy Hearts! I've abused mine for the last 2 years and love it! Thanks for the post and pics

I just did this to my ASH1! Now my ASH fits in a small Spec-Ops Combat Master. I used to have my BATAC SE in it. I'll start another thread on it so as to keep focus here. But thanks a heap for the pointers guys. Great thread! D
