i read through this and it sounds simple enough. but with the last spec ops sheath i had i couldnt remove the screw. it was so snug it just spun.

did i just need more elbow grease?

You need purchase on both sides. It seems that they started using some kind of loctite or other thread adhesive. Be careful, or you will put screwdriver into opposing hand, as I did. I amaze myself at the frequency I injure myself with the tools I am making a living with.
