Hell Razor (vs) SFNO

Nice photos there. I have always liked the look of the SFNO better. Just more utilitarian design to me. That said, probably nothing one can do that the other won't handle fine.

That TB you posted without the choil, and the flat but looks great as well.

I really need to score a similar TB. No choil and flat but for hammering. I don't think I will ever have to bust a skull with my knife (although the Ash1 CG or the FBMLE would work).

Tested these On Friday

Each Big knife was used for Chopping and Whittling

SLIDESHOW OF ENTIRE TRIP

http://s499.photobucket.com/albums/...NIFE TESTING 19 MAR 2010/?albumview=slideshow

The SFNO is a better chopper than the Mud Razor--but not by a large margin.

The Mud Razor is faster in hand but does less damage per chop/strike(to be expected)-also easier to control whittling

The SFNO has Magnum grips and after 10 or so chops into Texas Hardwood that grip starts to hurt.Might not hurt in softer woods...but in Mesquite...painful.

My Wife liked the ergonomics of the SFNO better than the Mud Razor when she was using it for anything but chopping.

The Batac was modified by the former owner and both the wife and I love that sucker---keeping that one.Carves like a lazer with the convex edge.

I just got a Tank Buster and decided to let the SFNO and Mud Razor go to new homes.

Will post photos of the Tank Buster test
