I'm lookin at this knife and I like it. Lookin at a good bushcraft knife under $70 bucks the laminated steel thing sounds good. Any one have experince with this brand

So far I like the Eggen HE75

The sharpest knife in my collection (sometimes competing with a BRKT mini-Canadian) is my only Helle - a stainless Symfoni. It feels good in the hand and is so sharp it scares my dogs.........

For one of the best selections and excellent prices, try www.ragweedforge.com

I liked the Brakar..pretty nice knife. Gene

Helles are good, sharp cutters & they look good too !

Of the few that I own,I'd say that the Symphoni gets the most use because of it's size, but the rest aren't really much bigger:

As a Norwegian I often use Helle knives, these days I use self-made knives with Helle blades, good and sharp. If I should buy a Helle knife now, it would be Eggen.

Good choice. I like the Eggen and the Fjelkniven.

The Eggen is my bushcraft(and hunting) knife, and my wife has the Fjelkniven. The Harding also looks like a good one. You can't go wrong with any of these.

I own a Jergermeister. I did a project with one of their blades too. Good stuff to work with.

Crazy sharp knives. They'll spoil you. The Fjellkniven is my favorite. My brother and I both have them. The Harding is similar and really looks good. I've got a Thor, which is no longer made I believe, that has a little too much handle for my medium sized hands. Ragnar has a good selection at ragweed forge, and gives his personal thoughts on some of them I think.

I really like the Eggen and Symphoni. I've only handled the eggen though. Great looking blades.

I did just receive my first Brusletto blade, though, and it's sharper than the devils claws! Great little blade. Shaves my arm bald(er).

Eggen it is I like the handle has some but little stabbing protection (choil,??) size is ideal for me. I will be using it and I think just plain old wood, will be the most durable. How think is the blade?

I'm currently working on adding a handle to a Helle Tollekniv laminated carbon steel blade from Ragnar. I like its heft and although the grind was a bit uneven, I'm sure it's going to be a very useful knife after I get finished tinkering with it. I did take a bastard file to it and change the shape from a clip point to more of a bushcraft-esque shape by dropping the point. From filing it I could tell that the center lamination is pretty damn hard steel. I'll try to post a pic once I get further.

Last year I was really taken with the Odel, but I was pulled to the Bark Side and got a Northstar (no regrets). I may still pick up an Odel sometime . . .

I'm interested in Helle and think they have wonderful handle finishes. I'm more attracted to the more traditional carbon blades though and will probably go with a Kellam before I do a Helle.

It's hard to go wrong with any Helle, I love their laminated steel. I started collecting them a few years back while working in Norway. The Eggen is one I carry regularly and is one of my favourites second only to the Nying which I love for it's size and shape and the way it fits perfectly in-hand.

i have a helle BraKar, and i really like it. i got it for $50. the brakar has a bit more length than a standard bushcrafter (the brakar is 5.5 inches) but for me, that is the perfest length for that class of knife.

Right on PB, I liked the extra stoutness of the blade,(4 3/8" blade length, almost 7/8" wide and .160" thick ), and I too am:D planning on touching up the clip to make it rounder and bushy:), no kidding on the hardness. I used a piece of local Birch. Good luck on yours:thumbup:
