Im planing to get one of these and was wondering how well they hold an edge , handled few knives and really like looks and feel of them!

I bought a couple of the Helle Tollekniv carbon steel blades and I like them. They sharpen up real well and appear to be sturdy. Some might complain about the thin tang on these blades.

The Helle triple laminate steel is excellent...sharpens up easily and retains its edge well. I do prefer a full tang rather than a rat-tail tang like most of their knives, but the Temagami model that I bought has a hidden 3/4 tang which I think should be very sturdy. I use a Wicked Edge Precision Sharpener and have developed a nice convex edge with an added 16 degree micro bevel...cuts like a laser. Love this steel!

I have a Harmoni in SS laminated
Stays scary sharp
All I have done is strop it

I have a carbon laminated blades but have not set them in handles

Some complain that the blade scratches easily. And the tang is indeed very thin on most of them. So they are not for playing but for a proper knife work - should have no problem with any of them.
