Back ground, I don't know what I'm doing at all. I ground this out of some 1095 tool steel. I don't have a forge to heat treat but I have a blow torch. I been researching bubba style knife making and heat treating but they use words that I'm not familiar with. Any links to a simple heat treat for simple minded guys like me? Thanks.

Really basic is to heat blade hot enough that magnet stops sticking and stick in water or canola oil. This hardens the steel. Bake at 450f for around an hour to temper it a bit tougher. At top of shop talk are yellow marked threads, these link to beginner info.

Splurge on a bottle of canola oil for about three bucks.
