The main difference is in the potentcy of curry vs. chillenos

The crappers in Juarez are like the rest rooms of the Mark Hopkins compared to the BirGorkha charpi.

The "outhouse" where I work get used by several hundred truck drivers a day and is totaly covered with stuff I better not say! Very, Very nasty!!!!!!:barf:

My time in Turkey gave me a great appreciation for running water and GI T paper. Never could handle the rusty coffee can filled with water next to the hole in the ground. Then I visited a Turkish prison....:barf:

No, just feeding our comrades in arms who strayed a bit. Remember Midnight Express?

If the sight and smell doesn't get you the flies and maggots will --along with all the rest of those nasty looking Indian Jones type critters.

The closest I ever came to fainting in my life was the first time I walked into a Nepali charpi -- thinking back it smelled like a rose garden and was more sterile than a medical research lab compared to the BirGorkha charpi.

Bill,

Have you ever been in an outhouse at the Buffalo Chip campground during Sturgis? :barf: :barf: :barf:

You could only keep your lunch if you went in with a lit cigarette and breathed through you mouth (as little as possible). It was the only good thing about smoking I've ever encountered :).

Something about bikers, beer and indian tacos!

Great pic BTW. ... say hi to Pala and ask him to let the kamis know we are thinking about them. ...

Leaving the topic of out-houses for the moment; I was thinking of updating the 'Kami' page of the HI site, especially in view of some of the recent changes in marks. Here's what I have now:

Thanks, Beo.

I'd just gotten up to speed on the kamis and their marks when Bill announced the changes.

Given the timing, I'm guessing that my first HI khuk is a Kesar.

There's 5 kamis I don't recognize on Ben's list that I don't recall ever working directly for H.I., or at least since the kamis started using their personal stamp on their khukuri's.
Did these kamis work for Pala or were they village kamis that Gelbu or someone bought khukuris from?

4) Lal bahadur
7) Dilip Bishwakarma
8) Bhotey Bishwakarma.
9) Ramshran Bishwakarma.
10) Thuley Bishwakarma

I think they all worked for Pala for a short time. Some don't make the grade, some get homesick, some run off with a gal, some work long enough to buy a ticket to Saudi Arabia, some borrow against future earnings and disappear -- it's a chance to pick up some fast cash and some are really not interested in the long term.
