Hello and introduction.

Hey Soup, talked to you over on the Swamp. Welcome over here, and that is a beautiful job by the way.

Was this the first blade you modified like this? Dang, you got a hole in one!

quick Q? After you rubbed/sanded the slabs, did you apply any coating to them? I rubbed my slabs down, and even after washing, they still seem fairly pale... and I want to deepen the color... leery of using mineral oil... so thats why I ask (mine are G10 as well). Thanks.

I would also like to know.

What grit sandpaper did you finish with? Did you do anything other than sand it?
did you apply anything to make it show up better in your photo or is that a true representation of your handle slabs?

cheers mate

Very nice "mod" and pictorial
a lot of INFI loving labour you have there:D
Great job:cool:

Greetings soup_monger and nice work on the Batac. It was your legendary work on the beckers you did that first inspired me to give my becker7 some mods a few months back. For anyone who doesnt know there is some outstanding work over on jerseedevil that soupie did as well as some handy little tips for having a go yourself.

wow... do you also post on BritishBlades?... and yeah, I'm a major lurker too... I read a lot, write barely anything... I'm a poor contributor on the forums, and spend a bit of time harassing Tyrkon for more AK videos (did you get my emails TL?)... but anyway, good work... how long did it take?... I'm just asking for future reference, whenever I might have some free time...

Thanks Ironballs

I have been modifying knives for a few years now.

The first mods I did were on the Becker line of knives ...Crewman, Campanion, BK9.

I have worked on various other knives including a couple of Swamprats..

That's a Ratweiler on the left and a Mini Uncle Mojo on the right.

I didn't put anything on the BATAC slabs when I was finished... and G10 is pretty much impervious to everything... just tricks of the light that it are making the colours stand out... I think. :)

I just finished the slabs to 1000 grit..... I did use a dremel with a pointed polishing mop on the tube fasteners.... I just like em shiny. :D

Yeah... the Becker line is where I started and they were good knives to learn on.

All of them have since been sold...but.. there's no looking back now that I have discovered INFI. ;)
:D
