Hello Arizona Hogs!

Yes, everything is fine down here. It's a bit hot at times, but at least we don't have the humidity so prevalent in your neck of the woods. I hope all is well with you and yours too, my friend!

We are getting by.

Overworked ... underbrained ... but still getting by. Therefore, should not and cannot complain.

May we all survive the down-turn.

I think you'll enjoy it here in AZ. I'm in Peoria, just west of Phx. & Glendale. That .45-70 would be just the ticket for elk, if you can score a tag, that is. And yes the weapons laws are favorable here and I don't go too many places without my HK45C. It's interesting how many forum members here and from the Scrapyard are in AZ. I would like to get to one of David Browns Bar -B-Ques, or get the people in the Valley together.

Welcome to the Valley, I live in the far North Phoenix area. The weather is great for about the 9 to 10 months out of the year. A couple of tips for living here; find a good AC repairman, save honking on the horn for only when really needed, and stock up on water, shorts and sunscreen.

Welcome again to the Valley.

Another hello from just outside Tucson. Hope you enjoy it here. The wife and I own a summer home west of Prescott at about 6500 ft elevation. Deer come right up to the house almost every day. So yeah, there's some game around here! The 45-70 will be a great gun around the mountains. Carry a Glock 23 and Scrapyard Scrapper 5 LE (or TankBuster) almost everywhere I go. No strange looks at the grocery store (well OK, one). I once had a woman behind me in the checkout line say I must be a 'cop' since I was carrying a gun. I turned around and said "Nope. I'm the guy on the other side of the door when they're breaking it down." Conversation closed! That was the only time anyone has ever said anything to me about it. Best part about AZ? 70 degrees in December!

Thank you all so much for the well wishes, welcomes, advice and offers - its very much appreciated and I will absolutely be taking you up on it. Those of you that sent PMs - thanks as well and I'll be getting back to you tonight!

That was during one of the recent monsoon 10 minute storms. we had 4 tree's go down at our complex from the wind gusts. During that down pour, it took 5 seconds for complete saturation on my clothes. it was like having buckets of water thrown on me at 50mph. it's kinda funny, my knives have never had a rust problem anywhere, and I lived a few miles away from the ocean. Now in the desert I have to watch them because I end up sweating on them all day.

and yeah... there is grass. There shouldn't be, but there is.
