Hello everyone. My first post and my first purchase

GREEKGOD: most Buck blades have Paul Bos heat treatment. It should be noted that a small percentage of Buck models intended for sale in big box retailers, etc. are made in China. Those models may be made with inferior steels and will not have Paul Bos heat treatment. As far as I know all US-made Bucks are heat-treated in house by Paul Bos. That will include all of Buck's flagship pieces.

Regardless of if made in Idaho or China, they all have the same Forever warranty.
Also, Buck sells both the USA made and China made knives on their website.
Some of their knives are indeed made in China. The thing to remember is no matter what the country of origin is, Buck does not cut corners when it comes to quality. They do not use an "inferior" steel, or any other "inferior" component. To do so would cost them more in the long and short term, in warranty repairs, and long term in lost customers.

I have a 301 stockman (USA made ) and a 371 stockman (made in China) and a 389 canoe (also made in China) My 371 has G10 covers, that is one of the reasons I bought it. G10 is not an option on the 301. I bought the 389 canoe, because I wanted a canoe, and I trust the Buck name. The country of origin is of no matter to me, if it is a Buck knife. Like I said, they do not put their name on junk.

Thanks for the clarifiation mate. I was wondering why some made in USA knives have the BOS imprint on the blade and some done. I think its just dependant on the fact if Buck felt to print it at times and didnt at other times

I really think we need to get over the "made in china" or "made in Taiwan" issue.
By all means buy stuff made in your home country(or region or town) To support your own or for political reasons or any reason you wish.
But try and avoid using quality as a 100percent reason
China Taiwan India all have ISO certified companies that can produce top quality products.
They can also produce junk if that's what the manufacturer requires.
The same holds true with most countries these days

Nice knife. That was my first 110 also. I now have 5 at home and 2 being worked on at the Buck Custom Shop !

Congrats and welcome to the forum. Yep, you got a good there. Very nice grain in the handle on that one.

Thanks guys... I feel I made the right choice now..

Mitch could you expand on what you mean my 2 of yours Bucks being in the custom shop?

Can one send a used knife for custom job as well.

GREEKGOD, Noticed you only showed one side of your knife. Is the other side not a looker? You can send a knife to Buck for "spa service" and/or blade replacement (not free but reasonable).

Greekgod, on page one I gave you a link to the Buck Custom shop. You must not have read my response. Check it out, you'll enjoy the site!

420HC Bucks standard steel is not stamped/etched with the BOS logo. Most "newer model" Bucks with upgraded steel should have the BOS logo stamped/etched. Not sure what year Buck started the BOS logo. My oldest Buck with the BOS logo is 2008. There may be older but in my collection this is the oldest sample I have.

Well done! I have two. One's a 1970s heirloom the other is a brand new 2015 user.

Great first purchase, congratulations! That knife'll long outlast you. You might eventually want to check out the custom shoppe, the F&F and QC is unrivaled in my experience.

Welcome to the forum from Illinois. The 110 is a great classic. I strayed away for awhile but started carrying one again. I've had a life long love for the 110. With plenty of other knives the 110 just feels right on my belt.
