Hello Everyone, My name is Brad and

We moderators are exempt from that law (as well as others)...Sort of like when I was a Deputy Sheriff.:D.:D.

so if all mods are exempt from this man law, that must mean you and Thomas are not Glock"man" or "Thomas", but are in reality Glock"woman" and "Thomascena":eek::eek::eek:

No, we aren't exempt from being men, just exempt from the law.:D.:D.

Glockwoman and Thomascena...sounds like a song John Prine or Robert Earl Keen would write!

Now, now OL, isn't there another man law about not pissing off the Mods? Or was that just a common sense thing? ;) :D

Great post Brad! As far as addictions/afflictions go, this is certainly one of the preferable ones. I suppose it can be a bit tough for the significant other to understand, but then we have the support of the also afflicted members of this forum and the nice people at NGK to fall back on.

SPXTrader, you think going out of your way one time was bad for your addiction. Until about a month ago I lived 10 minutes from NGK. It was an every weekend thing. Oddly enough, when you get prescribed something really potent they only give you like a weeks woth at a time, I was walking out of there with one of those little prescription bags a week. Was I carrying a potent pain killer? Was I carrying a highly addictive anti depressant? Heck no! Kershaw knives every time. I found it to be very appropriate.

LOL

Didn't you get the memo?? No man is exempt from " Man Law ". :p ;)

AMEN BROTHER!

i dont think Glock is mad. Thomas is prolly just rolling his eyes anyway. besides, i have no common sense! heck, i once bought something other than Kershaw! thats proof enough dont ya think? lol

Has anyone else noticed that it is hard to order just one knife at a time? It just doesn't feel right at checkout, having only one Kershaw in the cart. I always end up justifying the additional knife/knives by saying I have to pay for the shipping anyway, I may as well get the most out of it. Is it the addiction or am I just cheap?

kneedeep, yeah, she understands. What upset her the most was they didn't have a Rainbow Leek in stock, or I would have brought another one home...for her! She wants one real bad! Oh well, at least if I order one for her, maybe she won't complain as much. She already carries a Scallion! You're right, it just doesn't feel right to buy only one...kinda like the same reason you get a whole bunch of potato chips in a bag, instead of just one!

spiralarchitect, if I lived 10 minutes away from there, my company might as well have my paycheck direct deposited to NGK, because that's where it would all go!

You Eastern guys make me laugh. You list your location as SW VA. That IS 10 minutes from NGK. If I lived anywhere within 200 miles from them, I'd be there every couple months, not just cause a business trip took me there.
It takes me about 200 miles just to get out of state here.

Please don't take offense, it's just a different lifestyle.

But as to your original reason for posting, I've talked to Mike on the phone and couldn't get off for about 1/2 an hour. It was great talking to a great guy who deals in knives. I love the bandaid dispenser they give out too. :D

No offense taken, but I'm laughing too! The roads down here aren't exactly straight or flat. My trip was from Roanoke to Grundy, VA, 3.5 hours 175 miles. Talking about going farther down into SW VA? It's 5 hours and 15 minutes to Cumberland Gap, 243 miles away. This is the closest you can come to the VA/TN/KY border. Going east, I can make the water at Virginia Beach in a little under 6 hours, at a distance of 299 miles. 7 hours or longer if there's any traffic around Richmond, Williamsburg, Norfolk, Hampton Roads, etc. A lot of military bases down there. To DC? 4 hours (at night when there's no traffic) and 243 miles. The closest city, population-wise is Greensboro, NC at about 2 hours 15 minutes. So NGK, at a little over 2 hours at 115 miles is "close". But you're right, I plan on a pilgrimage at least every month or so. The Band-Aid dispenser is worth the trip in itself!

I've got a good friend that was stationed near Denver...he loves it there and wants to go back. But alas, he's too old now...he just recently dropped his Harley, and the Doctors at the VA want him to sell it! He didn't get hurt, except for crushing his pride and a little road rash!
